Dear parents and Carers,
Last week the caterpillars have been growing bigger everyday! We also have had lots of talk about the Kings Coronation! The children have been making crowns, flags and bunting.
Coronation party: We have our coronation picnic tomorrow on Tuesday 9th May. Hopefully your children will have seen some of the celebrations and will be able to tell us about their experiences.
Children can come wearing red, white or blue OR they can wear their party clothes (however please make sure their outfits are suitable for nursery life!) The 15hr children (red & orange) can stay for a picnic, please bring a packed lunch. Please can we ask that they are collected at 12.15pm on Tuesday.
We will be having a special treat of ice cream!
National firefighters day: A huge thank you to Ian who came in last week to talk to the children about his important job as a firefighter. The children had the opportunity to ask questions and then spent lots of time in the garden role playing being firefighters!! We love having visitors in to inspire our children from an early age.
Morning drop off: please can we ask that you say goodbye to your child outside of the building and let them walk in independently. We know this can be difficult for some children (particularly our new starters) but having independence and confidence is a key part of learning at this age.
Forest School: a big thank you to the families who were able to help at forest school last week. Forest school is an amazing experience for our Tenterfield children, but we can only go if we feel it is safe.
As we are now in the summer term, the weather has improved and children are now familiar with the routine and environment. Therefore we would like to take all the children (not pink group) every Thursday. 9-11am.
We will need a minimum of 7 parent/carer helpers, to enable us to go. Please sign up on the sheet under the canopy to confirm your attendance. The more the merrier!!
We really value your support to allow the children to explore the awe and wonder of our natural world.
Missing items: our lost property box is growing. Please make sure you check for any list items. Please can we ask if you borrow clothes or accidentally take a wrong item of clothing home that these are returned to nursery please.
We hope to be able to share our feedback from Ofsted next week. We are still waiting for the final report but we believe this will arrive next week.
Looking forward to another fun week ahead.
