Dear Parents and Carers,
We have ended the week with our butterflies arriving!!! It is lovely for our children to experience the awe and wonder of our natural world!
There are lots of updates this week, and some important dates for you:
New garden equipment- some new garden equipment arrived this week. We were able to purchase the equipment with the money raised by Lucy running the marathon. The children love it! Thank you SO much Lucy.
Children arriving late – please make sure your nursery child arrives on time, as it is disruptive for the office if they arrive late. We have a 15minute window for you to arrive, the door opens at 8.30am & closes at 8.45am.
Two year old timings – we would like to clarify our pink group (two year olds) session times. The door opens at 8.40am and there is a 5 minute window to drop them off between 8.40am-8.45am. The door then opens again at 11.40am, where you are welcomed to join us for singing. Its such a fun time together, and we can teach you new songs!! Come in and join in! The session finishes at 11.45am.
Lunches – We are seeing a lot of sugary products in children’s lunch boxes. Please make sure your child has a healthy packed lunch. We think the following photo is a good example. Don’t forget children only have 30mins to eat their lunch, and we provide morning & afternoon snacks for them.
Canopy – Please avoid waiting under the canopy at 8.30am as it can be overwhelming for our St Marys breakfast club children having to navigate their way around lots of families. Please use the one way system coming through the gates at the front of the building and exiting the gate at the side. Thank you for your cooperation.
Fathers day forest school – On Thurs 15th June we will be having a special forest school session to celebrate fathers day! 9am-11am.
Inset Day – Friday 16th June is our INSET day. Nursery is closed.
Welwyn festival street parade: On Sat 1st July Tenterfield will be taking part in the street parade. This is a lovely opportunity for local schools, pre-schools and nurseries to dress up and have fun. With a marching band and decorated float accompanying the children and parents, the sense of community is very strong. So save the date and come and join us! We will also have a stall during the fun day, so make sure you pop along and say hi to the team!
Sports day – On weds 5th July we will have our sports day for our nursery aged children. We will invite the 15hrs (red & orange) to stay for lunch and sports day will start at 1pm.
Pirate week – We will celebrate our last week of the summer term by having a pirate themed week. Our Pirate party will be on Thurs 20th July and children are welcomed to come in fancy dress (optional). Term ends Friday 21st July. Please note our 30hr children finish at the earlier time of 1pm. There is no afterschool club this day.
Transition: We have contacted all our feeder schools to invite them to come and meet your child at Tenterfield this term. We have children going to 9 different schools and each school has their own transition process. Therefore we would appreciate you emailing the office to let us know if your child will be missing a nursery session due to their new schools arrangements. admin@tenterfield.herts.sch.uk
Safety in cars: Please make sure your child is safe in the car, and wearing a seatbelt at all times.
Outstanding Ofsted Photo: Today we had a photographer visit with his drone! He took a photo of us to celebrate our outstanding Ofsted!! We would like to use this photo for an article in the Welwyn and Hatfield times. If you do not want your child to be in the paper, our photographer will blur their face, or will ‘photo shop’ them out.
Please could you let us know ASAP if you would like your child removed so we can organise this. Please email admin@tenterfield.herts.sch.uk with the title ‘No photo’ and include the name of your child.
Plumber: We are looking for a plumber to give us a quote to refit one of our toilets. If you know of anyone, please do get in touch via admin@tenterfield.herts.sch.uk
Thats it for this week! Have a lovely weekend, the weather is hopefully looking good!!
