Dear parents and carers,
We have seen some very hot weather over the last few days. It is important we are keeping our children safe in the sun. Please take the time to read our sun safety policy (attached)
Water play day: Tomorrow we are having our annual water play day. Water play day is a really fun day where we ask the children to come into nursery in their swim wear. We have LOTS of water activities in the garden. The children get very wet…including the staff!!
We ask you to bring:
- Swimwear – covered shoulders are best please to minimise sunburn
- Towel
- 2x spare clothes
- Sun hat
- Water bottle
- Water shoes (that are ok to get wet)
- Dry shoes
- Please ensure EVERYTHING is named
We will supply water guns as these can often cause issues with sharing, or get easily broken.
Please do not bring children’s belongings in a plastic bag as this poses a significant risk of choking. Please put all belongings in a rucksack, or another suitable bag.
Please ensure sun cream is applied all over the body before nursery. We re-apply sun cream to all the children at lunchtime, however we are looking for donations to be kept and used on all the children please, as sun cream is very expensive for us to purchase on our very tight nursery budget. We recommend:
It is factor 50+, suitable for sensitive skin and has 5 stars UVA protection. If you would like to donate a bottle to the nursery, we would be very, very grateful.
Summer holiday club: Bookings will open tomorrow (Tuesday.) Our last holiday club session will be Weds 16th August, as our garden maintenance work will start on Thurs 17th August.
Fathers Day Forest School: We will be having a special forest school session on Thursday, and we are inviting all male role models to join us! Mums are most welcome if dad/carer is unable to attend. 9am-11am.
Marathon fundraiser: We have received the fundraising total from Lucy Hill. It was an AMAZING £2,302.67!!! We can’t thank you enough Lucy!
Informing us of sickness/absence: It is really important that you contact the school if your child is not going to be in nursery. We have a duty of care to follow up every absence, and mark on our registers why your child is not at nursery. It takes a large portion of Rhoda’s working day if she has lots of parents to call. You can phone us on 01438714564 or email admin@tenterfield.herts.sch.uk . We appreciate your cooperation.
Uniform: We have a new uniform supplier. The ordering details will shortly be available on our website.
Please do not forget it is our INSET day on Friday. Nursery is CLOSED. Staff are busy meeting all our new starters in September, and we are ending the day with a special ‘Outstanding Ofsted’ celebration event.
Have a lovely week,
Mrs Beare
