Heads Up…15/01/23

Dear Parents and Carers,

A big welcome to all our new families to the Tenterfield family. The children are doing se well at settling into the new routine. We encourage and promote independence, therefore if your child is ready to come in independently in the mornings please allow them to come in on their own. We have staff to support them with their belongings and finding their key person.

Welcome also to our new staff members Mrs Hebbert (class teacher) Mrs Borland (wraparound lead) and Holly Bradley (office manager.) We are thrilled you have joined team Tenterfield. Mrs Hebbert works every morning in the nursery, leading and organising our curriculum in the classroom, she is also orange group key person. Mrs Borland works every afternoon with our wraparound children, she will be taking over the organisation of all our wraparound provision. Holly Bradley works every afternoon in the office, please be aware that if you need to contact Rhoda her working hours are 8am-12.30pm. Holly Bradleys hours are 12-4pm.

Books: Thank you so much to all the parents who have donated books from our amazon wish list https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/23640QOVZLIUJ?ref_=wl_share We really appreciate your support in developing a love of reading with your child.

Next week we are reading ‘The smartest giant in town’ by Julia Donaldson. Here is a video of the book to watch together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yEGxp4UCBg Please look out for our learning updates on Tapestry!

Tapestry: Every Wednesday we will be celebrating ‘WOW Wednesday.’ This is our opportunity to share learning and celebrations from home. Please make sure you regularly upload photographs to Tapestry so we can look at these together as a group. It is a great opportunity to promote talk and conversations ,which is a key part of children’s communication and language development.

All our new families should have received activation emails for Tapestry. If you haven’t please contact the office.

Celebration Assembly: Every Friday we will have celebration assembly with the children at 11.15am. This is where we celebrate successes and learning that happens at Tenterfield. Children receive a certificate and a special applause from their teachers and friends. If it is your child’s turn to receive a certificate, we welcome you to come and join us for the assembly. If you are unable to come in we will film it and pop it on Tapestry. Please look out for an email which will inform you if it is your child’s turn to receive a special celebration of learning.

Story Telling Week: The week beginning Monday 30th Jan we have a story telling week. This is where we invite parents and relatives into nursery to come and read with the children. You may have a spare 10 mins to come and sit in the story area, or you may like to come and read to your child’s colour group. We are very flexible and would love you to come in to read please! Please let the office know your availbility so Mrs Hebbert can co-ordicate the visits. We welcome parents, carers, grandparents, aunties & uncles!!

We would like to invite all parents into nursery at drop off on Fri 3rd Feb to look at a book together with your child. Pop in anytime between 8.30-9am.

We are looking forward to another great week of learning.
