Heads Up…26/02/22

Dear parents and carers,

A busy week back after half term. Some exciting learning has been happening! Some of the children have been cooking (making delicious biscuits) some of the children have been to forest school and some of the children have been dancing with Miss Hayley from DH Dance Academy!

World book day: it is world book day on Thursday, however this is a forest school day for the red and orange group. Therefore we are going to dress up as our favourite story characters on Friday 3rd March. Can your child please bring their favourite story book to nursery on Thursday, perhaps put a label on it with their name?

Have a look at this story corner, you may even see some of our favourite stories we have been reading this year! https://www.worldbookday.com/share-a-story-corner/

Your child may come home with a reading pet soon. These are our special class pets that LOVE to be read to! Please snuggle up with your child, read a story together and take a selfie to pop on Tapestry. We love to know all the different stories that our pets are listening to!

Forest school: A bit of a damp session this week, but still lots of fun! Look out for the photographs on Tapestry. A big thank you to all our parent helpers. We really value your help and support. We would not be able to run forest school sessions without you, so if you have signed up for a session via our Google form, please just come along that day at 8.55am and wait under the canopy. It is vital that we have a safe child-to-adult ratio to be able to go, so please let the office know if you have signed up for a session and then unable to attend.

If you would still like to join us please let us know via our Google form. The more the merrier! It’s lots of fun!

Nurture: Mrs Brankin will be making her nurture catch up calls on Tuesday. To allow her to prep for these calls we are going to run nurture sessions on Weds and Fri next week.

Strike days : we are planning to be open as normal. If anything changes we will let you know as soon as we are aware.

Parking: we have had a complaint from a neighbour about a parent parking across their drive. They have a very poorly relative and must have access at all times. Please be considerate where you park. Our relationship with our Beckett Gardens neighbours is really important to us.

Also please do not park in the staff car park, again staff need access at all times when they arrive or leave.

Social Media: do you follow our Facebook page. We often put updates on there which you may not see via our other communication channels. https://www.facebook.com/tenterfieldnurseryschool

Coming soon….Tenterfield is currently creating an Instagram page. We’ll let you know when it’s ready!

Next weeks story is Jack and the beanstalk.Heres a link to a video story on youtube https://youtu.be/W5rxfLRgXRE. Have a conversation about the story together. How would you feel if you found a giant beanstalk in the garden? How could we find out more about how to grow beans? What is it like in giant/Ogre land? How is it different to where we live?
