Dear Parents and Carers,
We had a fabulous end to the half term with our Tenterfield disco! It was lovely to bring our Tenterfield family together to have fun! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
Staffing: We have some important updates within our staff team.
Unfortunately Mrs Halsey will be leaving the family on Thurs 3rd Nov. Mrs Halsey works within both the nursery and supports our wraparound team with afterschool club and holiday club. Mrs Halsey has chosen to start a new work adventure which is closer to her home. We wish her lots of success. We are currently recruiting for her position, more information can be found here: Teacher Recruitment, Hertfordshire UK – Wraparound Assistant (afternoons – 30 hours per week) (teachinherts.com)
Also, sadly Mrs Jackson will be leaving us at Christmas. Mrs Jackson is our class teacher and key person to the orange group. Mrs Jackson is leaving the teaching profession and going to work with the SEN team at County. Again, we wish Mrs Jackson lots of happiness and success in her new role.
We have some good news that Mrs Hebbert will be joining the team in January and teaching the orange group every morning. Mrs Hebbert is very familiar with our vision & values at Tenterfield having previously have two children attend. We are very fortunate that she will be returning to the nursery as our class teacher!
Music Day: Our music day was a HUGE success!! It was lovely to welcome in parents and volunteers to play live music. We were joined by two guitarists and the beautiful sound of the flute. We would love to make this a regular occurrence so please let us know if you, or anyone you know, may be able to join us for future dates.
Kind hands, Kind words week: We are looking for ‘people who help us’ to come into the nursery to explain (and perhaps model) to the children what they do. We are particularly looking for dentists, nurses, doctors, fire fighters, police, …the list is endless!! If you can help us (or know someone who can)we would love to hear from you if you have a spare hour to come into the nursery during the week beginning 14th November. You will have a great time, we promise!! Please email: admin@tenterfield.herts.sch.uk
Shoes: We encourage independence at all times. The children are now frequently changing their shoes to put the wellies on in the garden. We are noticing a lot of children are wearing shoes that are not practical for encouraging independence. Please can we ask that children wear suitable shoes for the season, with velcro fastening so they can manage changing their shoes independently. Thank you for your support.
Socks: It is now the season for soggy socks!! We ensure every child wears a pair of wellies and a wetsuit when it is wet outdoors but sometimes the children are having so much fun they get wet through to their clothes! We always seem to be particularly short of dry socks. Please can you ensure your child has at least two spare pairs of socks in their bag please. Also if you are ever having a clear out of socks we always welcome a supply of spares.
We are looking forward to another action packed half term!
Mrs Beare
