Dear Parents and carers,
We are looking forward to reading the Gruffalo next week, and starting forest school with the red and orange group!
Strike day 1st Feb: We are very much hoping to be open on Wednesday. If there are any changes to this we endeavour to let you know ASAP.
Child sickness/absence: Can we please ask that you either call the office 01438714564 or email admin@tenterfield.herts.sch.uk if your child will not be at nursery. As part of our commitment to attendance we will telephone you every time your child is off. By letting us know in advance it saves Rhoda a job in her very busy mornings, but most importantly it means that we do not have to disturb you whilst looking after a poorly child. We appreciate your support and your commitment to regular attendance.
Story Telling Week: Next week is our story telling week. Thank you to those parents who have contacted us to come in and read. We are excited to have you in the nursery sharing our love of stories.
We would like to invite all parents into nursery at drop off on Fri 3rd Feb to look at a book together with your child. Pop in anytime between 8.30-9am.
Toys: We are seeing an increasing amount of childrens toys being brought into nursery in children’s bags. Can you please check every day that your child does not bring any toys in their bag. We have plenty to keep them entertained! Toys from home cause numerous problems for us with them getting lost, broken or sharing. Again, thank you for your support.
Water bottles: Can you please ensure your child has only water in their water bottle. No juice or flavoured water. We have noticed some bottles are containing juice and other children are wanting to drink this.
Wow Wednesday: Every Wednesday we will be celebrating ‘WOW Wednesday.’ This is our opportunity to share learning and celebrations from home. Please make sure you regularly upload photographs to Tapestry so we can look at these together as a group. It is a great opportunity to promote talk and conversations ,which is a key part of children’s communication and language development.
All our new families should have received activation emails for Tapestry. If you haven’t please contact the office.
Please also contact the office if you are not receiving notification of accidents through Tapestry, as this is how we inform you if your child has had a bump or fall whilst they are with us. We like parents to ‘like’ or comment on a accident post so that we know you have seen it.
Coming into nursery: Our new starters have coped really well with transitioning into nursery. We feel they are now ready to come in on their own. Please don’t worry there are plenty of adults around to support them if they need us. The corridor can be very busy and having parents inside can block the walk ways for the children.
Catch Up Calls: Your child’s key person will be making calls to you during their non contact time during the week beginning 6th Feb. Further details to follow. If you would like to request a face to face meeting with your key person please email the office so we can put arrangements in place.
We are looking forward to another busy week!
