Dear Parents & Carers,
Another busy week at Tenterfield. There is lots of talk in the nursery about Transition, whether that be children moving onto Primary School or staying with us for another year.
Welwyn Parade & Fun day: We will be taking part in the Welwyn street parade on Sat 1st July. The theme this year will be all things 60s & 70s. We would love as many children to join us as possible!! Please don’t buy a costume; any bright coloured clothes or flower power will do! Parents are welcomed to join in the fun too by dressing up and accompanying their children during the parade. Parents will need to be responsible for their children at all times, as Tenterfield staff will be off duty!!
We will be meeting at the civic centre at 12.45pm so we can be ready to set off at 1pm, following the fire engine down to Singlers Marsh where the parade judging will take place. We then have a stall at the fun day so pop by and see us!
Sports Day: St Marys have kindly let us use their sports field for our sports day on Weds 5th July for our nursery aged children (not pink group). We will invite the 15hrs (red & orange) to stay for lunch and sports day will start at 1pm.
We welcome as many parents as possible to help us walk the children over to the field. Please arrive at 12.40pm and wait under the canopy. We anticipate finishing around 2pm. Please wear your trainers…as you may want to join in the parents race!!
PJ Day: On Friday 7th July we are going to have a PJ day to raise money for Helping Herts. Please come to school dressed in your pyjamas, and help us raise as much money as we can for this important charity. The charity have set up a donation page to add the total money raised after the day, which is here: https://fundraising.helpingherts.com/helpinghertsweek
Scarves: We are looking for light, floaty scarves for the nursery please. If you have any you no longer need, we would be very grateful for them to use in our music area please.
Budge Up Day Thurs 13th July: Can we ask all our families who are transitioning to primary school (not St Marys) to email us their arrangements for budge up day please, as every school is different. Unfortunately we cannot manage children arriving late or leaving early through the office, therefore we will have our door opening times as 8.30-8.45am & 11.45am. Collection times will either be 11.30am or 2.45pm. You will not be able to drop off or collect your child outside of these times this day. It will be an authorised absence if your child cannot attend due to this reason. Thank you for your understanding with this.
If your child is not moving to a primary school this will be a normal day for them.
Budge Up day: children transitioning to St Marys: is taking place on Thursday 13th July, 10am – 11.30am.
To minimise disruption and to ensure your child is relaxed and ready for their important transitional visit we ask that you keep them at home that morning and do not bring them to nursery before their visit.
If your child attends for 30 hours or is booked into our wraparound that day, we will open the doors at 11.45am to welcome them. Please queue in the usual area until the doors open and ensure your child has a packed lunch with them.
We know how important transition visits are for the children and we want to make this a positive experience for them as they start their journey into school. If you would like to keep your child off for the whole day please let the office know by emailing admin@tenterfield.herts.sch.uk
Returning Children For all our children who are returning to us in September the start of term will be Weds 6th Sept, this includes children moving up from pink group to red, orange, yellow, green or blue group.
We are looking forward to having fun with you tomorrow at the fun day.
Mrs Beare
