Tenterfield has a dedicated two year old group, which offers both funded and fee paying places for 2 year olds.
This is an innovative group which is fully inclusive within our Outstanding Nursery environment.
The children are welcomed into our exclusive 2yr old environment called ‘the nest.’ Their keyperson greets them, they have a short welcome time together, and they are then able to access the full Tenterfield curriculum within the main nursery setting. They return to ‘the nest’ for songs & story time before the end of their session.
Children quickly become familiar with the routines of nursery life, as the nursery aged children are exemplary role models for behaviour and learning.
Two year olds are welcomed every morning Monday to Friday 8.35-11.35am. We can offer flexibility if you would like 2, 3, 4 or 5 sessions a week!

Places are very limited so please contact us for further information, 01438714564. Our two year olds are moved into our 3&4 year old groups the term after their 3rd birthday. There is no need to reapply. Therefore starting in ‘the nest’ gives children an excellent start to their Tenterfield learning journey.
Childcare support for 2 year olds – working families
From April 2024, working families with a 2 year old may be entitled to 570 hours of childcare support per year. That’s 15 hours per week if used across the 38 weeks of term time.
Families receiving additional government support
This includes families on Universal Credit or another form of income related benefit. You could qualify through other criteria.
