Parents are their child’s first educator, the most important person in their life and so to ensure that your child progresses and achieves success in reaching their potential we encourage strong home school links. When children come to Nursery, we build on the foundations that you have laid and work in partnership with you to continue and develop this.
Sign up for one of our EYFS Sessions
We have regular workshops throughout the year focusing on general and specific areas of learning e.g. phonics, math’s, transiting to school and Christmas crafts.
Please see the newsletter and parent mail for further information or speak to a member of staff is you have any ideas about the focus of a future workshop
Share a book regularly
At Tenterfield all children are encouraged to take home a book to share with their family. Please find time to read regularly with your child. At this young age reading means looking at and talking about the pictures, demonstrating how to hold and use the book correctly,
Upload to Tapestry
Share your child’s interests at home and what you have been doing with them by uploading photos and comments to Tapestry. Staff can then share this with the children during their Nursery session. We plan lots of activities based on the children’s interests so please let us know what they like doing at home or at the weekend. It’s really easy to upload, please speak to your key person or Mrs Beare.
Become a volunteer with the friends of Tenterfield
Parents, grandparents and other carers are always welcome at Tenterfield. You can help in many different ways – whether you have a special skill or talent, or you would like to help us at fundraising events. The partnership between you family and the staff is crucial to children’s happiness and development.
